Macallen seeks to achieve one of the highest levels of
the national LEED Green Building Rating Systems Certifications
Through innovative technologies, the building will save
over 600,000 gallons of water annually, while consuming
30% less electricity than a conventional building (exact
% will be provided in final LEED MATRIX)
Utilizes significant amounts of natural and recycled materials,
including cotton insulation, bamboo flooring, recycled
natural fiber carpet, cork, linoleum, and recycled steel
Abundant natural light, reducing the need for additional
lighting and heating during off peak hours
Fresh air ducted to every unit for best indoor air quality
The planted, green roof will provide storm water run-off
relief and functional insulation, furthermore, it improves
the surrounding environment by producing oxygen and alleviating
ambient heat
Active recycling program with recycling rooms on every
floor
